I've built Waulog (https://waulog.com), a web app to help dog owners track their pets' health and activities. It features:- Activity logging (walks, meals, etc.)
- Health monitoring (weight, vomits, feeding schedule)
- Family sharing for coordinated care
- QR code profiles for lost dogs
- 100% FreeAs a dog owner, I created this to solve my own pain points. I'd love feedback from the HN community, especially on:1. Additional features you'd find useful
2. UX improvements
3. Privacy concerns and how to address themAny thoughts or suggestions are appreciated!
Users have mixed feelings about the dog activity tracking app. Some question its necessity, especially for healthy pets, while others find it useful for elderly pets or managing pet care in a busy lifestyle. Concerns about future costs and data extraction are raised. There's appreciation for the concept, with intent to explore it further. Comparisons are made to the Baby Connect app for human babies. Users request more information such as screenshots, videos, and a fixed FAQ, noting that current screenshots have attention signs.
Users questioned the necessity of tracking dog activities, deeming it unnecessary for average healthy pets. Concerns were raised about potential future costs and data extraction. Criticism also included the lack of FAQs in the FAQ section and an excess of attention signs.
