The market has seen several mediocre solutions that nobody loves. Unless you can offer something fundamentally different, you’ll likely struggle to stand out or make money.
Don't build it.
Your idea for a website where people can comment on their daily activities falls into a crowded space. We've identified about 10 similar products, which suggests there's some interest, but also significant competition. The engagement on these similar platforms is quite low, with an average of just 2 comments per product. Unfortunately, the sentiment metrics like net use and net buy are neutral, which means people aren't explicitly asking for this and are not willing to pay for it. This indicates that while the concept is simple, breaking through the noise and capturing user attention will be challenging. You are in a "Swamp" category, where many similar solutions exist but fail to gain traction, indicating the need for a radically different approach to succeed.

Support for positive products; congratulations on the launch.
HeyDay is a tag based journal and tracker, where each tag can have any number of metrics assigned to quantify the aspects you'd like to track.I want the approach to be a celebration of progress and offer a positive way to keep track of how you spend your time and measure progress. The app is still in the early stages, but I'm keen to get feedback to help steer the project. Thanks!
I was never a fan of writing a journal in detail. But I like taking short notes and writing important stuff to my calendar. I decided to write my own journaling app that focuses on adding entries fast and analyse them. Most days I spend less than 5 min adding the important stuff of the day to my diary. Maybe some of you find value in this too. With my app RecapMe you can: 1. Create tags for your recurring actions 2. Create diary entries for the day with this tags 3. Check out different analysis and stats for your tagsNext features: 1. Custom cards for counting stuff 2. Attach images to diary entries... and open for further suggestions...
A simple and clean app that empowers you to take control of your life. You will log daily entries with ease, all while tracking your mood, goals, habits, and activities.
The Product Hunt launch received positive feedback regarding its branding and overall concept. However, some users found the UI to be too complicated, while others praised its clean design. A key question was raised about the app's differentiation from similar apps like Daylio. There was also an inquiry about the app's ability to download foreign IDs, specifically from China. Overall sentiment appears positive.
Users criticize the product launch for its complicated UI and perceived lack of unique features, drawing comparisons to Daylio. There's also feedback to remove the testimonials section until it includes at least three testimonials.
Please let me know what you think!
Users generally appreciate the journaling app, highlighting the nice landing page and interactive illustrated calendar. Some users reported issues such as blog link redirects and emojis not loading. There is also interest in a paid version. One user mentioned the app was developed after a layoff for better event viewing.
Users criticized the product for blog link redirects and emojis not loading. Additionally, there was a preference for local hosting.
HeyDay is a habit tracker and journal that lets you decide how it works. Celebrate the big achievements, as well as the days in between.
Hello HN,One of the great things about HN is being able to see what other people think in the discussion. The same goes for Youtube, Twitter and Reddit. I find it exciting to read the comments and follow the conversations.Unfortunately, not many websites enable people to leave comments. Some of them filter and control what people are allowed to say (e.g. reviews). So I thought it would be great to be able to comment on any website. My solution was to create a browser extension that does exactly that. The extension shows up as a small icon on the side of the webpage. It can be expanded so that you can leave your own comment, and see what other people have said.I do care about privacy. The extension only uses the URL of the current website, and it does not track any of your activity. Moreover, the comments you make are completely anonymous.I would love to hear your opinion about this!
