Hmm, interesting. As a fellow SaaS builder (aimed at game devs), I see the freemium play. But how do you stop people from just... ignoring the reminders? Maybe tie it into some game mechanic thing? Like, drink water to get +1 health in a mini-game? Or is that too much? Good luck, I'm off to fight my own marketing demons.

Pour Decision – Alcohol Tracker and Mindful Drinking Companion

14 Jul 2024 Health & Fitness

Hey there!I want to share the alcohol tracker app that I've made for iOS.The idea came to be when I decided I want to drink less, but not quit completely. I tried a bunch of solutions but I couldn't find the app quite right, so decided to build it myself. Existing apps that I've tried were either subscription-based, had a bad design/buggy, didn't come with a library of common drinks I can choose from etc. Pour Decision is my attempt to an app I wanted to exist. Hope y'all like it!Website: https://pourdecision.appApp store: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/pour-decision/id6499468185

Users are intrigued by Ketohol's promise of a mild buzz without negative effects, but express skepticism and concern about untested side effects. The product seems to appeal to younger demographics, with emphasis on cost, availability, taste, and strength. Some users have adapted to the taste and find it refreshing, while others suggest enhancements like a cocktail database. The UX is praised, but there's a call for broader platform support beyond iOS. Comments also touch on broader topics like non-alcoholic support options, moderation benefits, and alcohol-related data tracking. There's interest in low-alcohol options and historical context on alcohol regulation.

Users criticized the product for its cost, limited availability, taste, and weaker buzz. Concerns were raised about the untested substance and potential side effects. The alcohol-free wine was specifically noted for poor taste, and the limited flavor options were a drawback. Users questioned the benefits of moderation and highlighted risks. Technical issues included a missing rotating PNG gallery on mobile and privacy policy concerns. The product lacks a cocktail database and sharing feature, is only available on iOS, and offers limited low alcohol beer options in the US. There's also a gap in the market for beers between 0.5% and 3.5% ABV, and regulation complicates distribution.

I made an alcohol tracker app for iOS

03 Oct 2024 Productivity

Hi everyone!I made an alcohol tracker, with all the features that I wish other apps had when I was using them. In addition to the features you'd expect from an alcohol tracker, my app offers the following:- Track water intake → remember to stay hydrated- Cocktail presets → Presets like beer, wine, tequila etc. isn't unheard of. But I wasn't able to find an app that has presets for common cocktails, which I often go for. I had to investigate what's in the cocktails and log them separately (which was quite bothersome especially while drinking at a bar, and the calorie values were still off) and there were quite some guesswork- Quick add → Log an entry with an average alcohol content with a single clickAnd I designed the typical graphs, insights, analytics screens, drink logs display etc. in a way that I find made my overall tracking experience better. What do y'all think? also, I'm thinking to add a drink calendar that shows your whole year with color coded days, green for 0 drinks, shades from green to yellow for the amount, red for over the limit etc.Other fun ideas welcome :)
